Consideraciones Acerca de la Educación a Distancia en la Unidad de Extensión del Campus Salamanca en Yuriria

Abstract

Distance Education is a concept that started to be used in Mexico in the 1950s, by using audiovisual tools and materials in the educational environment. The University of Guanajuato, always seeking to be in the vanguarde in education is has entered into this on-line learning modality, resulting in the creation of a virtual university in the areas of Engineering through its Campus Salamanca. This is to satisfy the demand for studies in these specialties from the population with limited resources that either resides or works far from the academic campuses of the UG. This educational modality is currently offered in different cities at high school level, such as Yuriria, and in the near future Pénjamo, transforming them into university extension units. This document presents the analysis of a questionnaire applied to the students of the Southern Campus in Yuriria.
