Abstract
The objective of this research is to identify the factors that prevent local Mexican suppliers from having greater inroads into the exporting industrial electronic maquiladora industry sector in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The research methodology consisted of in-depth interviews with those responsible for purchasing ten maquiladoras factories that are considered the most successful, and the implementation of a survey of 40 maquiladoras. A diagnosis of current factors influencing the low recruitment of Mexican local supply by maquiladora electronics industry in Tijuana, BC will be created with the results. It aims to provide necessary information that may be useful to industry associations and the state authority for decision-making, which may contribute to increase the number of contracts between local suppliers and large companies.
